Big Bike Day Awards – Bravery & Skill

La Mor nam Baidhsagal – Big Bike Day, 17.09.09

Bha la air leth againn uile a chaidh a chuir air doigh mar phairt dhen “Seachdain Mor nam Baidhsagal” far an robh an cothrom againn sgilean ionnsachadh mu “mountain biking” agus a bhidh sabhailte air an rathad air ar baidhsagalan.  Chuir Sleite Ghleidhte air doigh an la le taic bho Claire Hannah agus Sarah Nicolson (Active School Co-ordinator).  Moran taing!

We all had a fantastic day that was organised as part of “Great Sleat Bike Week” where we all had the opportunity to learn some mountain biking skills and cycling proficiency and safety on the road.  Clean Sleat, Claire Hannah (Parent Council) and Sarah Nicolson (Active School Co-ordinator) organised the day and it was brilliant fun!  Moran taing!

Shinty Festival Ceilidh – 12.09.09

Calum, Lucy, Roisin and Stella travelled to Portree on Saturday night to sing at the finale ceilidh of the Isle of Skye Primary School’s Shinty Association 20 year celebrations.  On the night they sang with Kyleakin Primary School and did a terrific job.    Well done!

Bha soirbheachas aig clasaichean 1-3 anns an amar is thainig iad air ais le measgachadh de dhuaisean eadar 5m agus 100m!  ‘S math a rinn sibh uile!  Tha seo a’ cuir crioch air ar chiad oidhirp leasannan snamh a thoirt dha gach paist’.

Classes 1-3 had success in the swimming pool with a range of badges from 5m to 100m!  Well done to you all.  This completes a successful first go at all classes getting swimming lessons this year.

Luchd-Ciuil na Sgoile – Bun-sgoil Shleite Musicians

Dh’fhalbh an coignear seo dha Caisteal Armadail air Oidhche Haoine (12.06.09) airson cluich aig an co-fharpais piobaireachd “Donald MacDonald Quaich” eadar na luchd-farpais. Rinn iad cho math gun d’fhuair iad £100 airson an sgoil, faodaidh an coignear taghadh de cheannaicheas iad leis an t-airgead airson an sgoil. ‘S math a rinn sibh uile!
The five pupils featured here went to Armadale Castle on Friday night (12.06.09) and played inbetween the competitors of the “Donald MacDonald Quaich” piping competition. They all did so well that £100 was gifted to the school from the Clan and the five pupils who went will choose how they wish the money to be spent in the school. Well done to you all!
